Sandra Lee the originator of the "semi-homemade cooking"
concept has written several books and is a well known face on
TV. In the early 1990s, Sandra invented "Kurtain Kraft", a home
decorating tool using curtains. Here is some background on
her.
She was born in 1966. Her teenage parents divorced a few
years later. When Lee was 11 years old her mother suffered from
depression and was bed ridden for many years. Sandra took care
of her younger sisters and brothers.
Sandra gives credit for some of her work to her grandmother
Dicey and says many of the Semi-Homemade ideals can be traced
back to her.
After completing high school, Sandra attended the
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for three years. She now lives
in New York
Sandra originally called herself a "lifestylist," before
switching to the semi-homemade idea because of trademark
reasons.
Sandra is divorced from Bruce Karatz, ex-chairman and CEO of KB
Homes.
